The Lunatic Fringe --- The Source Of Change:

Before you just go along with the crowd and before you dismiss our statement, and our proposals as foolish, we invite you to take a moment and look at the following truth more closely:

Almost every major change on the planet
has come out of the lunatic fringe.

It came by way of a visionary, a dreamer , a possibility thinker. It came from a person who was, at one point in his or her creative process, considered by most of his/her fellow humans as an eccentric, a fool, a lunatic, or a trouble maker. Look at the extreme opposite of what is labeled conservative. If you look closely into what is commonly called “The Lunatic Fringe,” you'll find the visionaries, the dreamers , the possibility thinker. You'll also find the future of humanity!

As historical examples: Einstein was thrown out of grade school as hopelessly un-teachable. Louis Pasteur was drummed out of his medical college for proposing that life forms too small for the human eye to see were the cause of disease. Galileo was imprisoned for life for publicly proclaiming that the Earth was round. And then there’s the most famous rebel of all time, Jesus of Nazareth.

Each of these people made major contributions to the future of humanity; yet, when they expressed their mastery into the world, they were looked at as troublemakers, as lunatics, or as fools.

The future of humanity is still “out there” in that lunatic fringe. If you look among the malcontents, the eccentrics, lunatics and the quasi-criminals, you’ll also find the visionaries, the dreamers, and the possibility thinkers. You’ll find the modern-day equivalents of Galileo, Louis Pasteur, Robert Fulton, Joseph Smith, Gandhi, Nicola Tesla, or possibly even another world-renowned, spiritual leader.

Right now, today, numerous individuals of this caliber are diligently working on fantastic new ideas while being ignored, condemned, ridiculed, suppressed, or interfered with by our fellow humans. Those who survive the assault of the status quo will each change the face of this planet forever.

Major changes have always come about this way -- from people who live outside the mainstream of society, from people who think differently, act differently, and hold beliefs that are at odds with what is considered normal, correct, or socially acceptable. It has always been that way. It’s that way now, and there is no evidence it’s about to change.

If all you can think of is the way things are, or the way they used to be, that’s what your future will be.°

Five Factors to Consider:

When you read the opening statement in several of our proposals and programs, you probably had the standard reaction: This is crazy. It's too far out to be believable. The author is just another lunatic. Here are five things you might want to consider.

First:

Your reaction is typical. It's the pre-programmed response that was installed in most children's' minds by their parents, their church, and their community social structure when they were too young to resist.

For example the typical Christian church teaches its children: 1) what to think, 2) to NOT think for themselves, and 3) to stop listening when they hear anything that counters the church doctrine. They tell the children that if they do listen, they could lose their faith and without their faith, they'll burn in hell forever. What do you suppose the consequences are to a young child who gets this type of fear-based behavior programmed into his/her mind? ' What does that do to him or her as an adult? '

Second:

Each Section on each Website in the TLC-Family of Websites' is only a small piece of a comprehensive study of religion, reality, and the social structures that dominate our lives. Reading more sections on our websites, causes the reader to perceive the individual piece as more logical. How each piece fits into the overall study also becomes more apparent.

Third:

The lunatic fringe is now and always has been the source of major changes on planet Earth.

Fourth:

We have two possible foundations upon which to base our human behavior, 1) our beliefs about reality and 2) what the evidence tells us is most probably reality. If you base your life on a belief and leave out your rational and reasoning mind, particularly if you follow the teaching of a only one, specific religion, you are simply a robot parroting someone else's beliefs about reality.

If and when you stop simply being a mindless sheep, parroting someone else's words and conforming to someone else's rules of behavior, you will have stepped into the lunatic fringe.

Fifth:

In a society of lunatics, a sane person is considered crazy.

It's All a Matter of Perspective:

What you see depends upon where you are standing. ' What something means to you is a function of your belief system. Good and bad are judgment calls. And of course, you and I are the only ones normal. Everyone else is strange.

Some examples:

From the British perspective, the leaders of the American Revolution were criminals and, had they failed to defeat the British, they would have been executed for treason, and Benedict Arnold would have been a hero.

Jesus of Nazareth was executed by the Romans because he was a trouble maker. Wilber and Orville Wright were considers crazy fools. And of course, everybody knows:

The Earth is flat,
The Pope is infallible,
It's impossible for a human being to run a mile in four minutes,
My religion has exclusive access to God,
My religion is the only true religion,
Everyone else's beliefs are myths,
God wants me to murder you because you don't practice my religion.

The Stages Of Change:

Whenever a major change is brought forth, the creation process goes through these stages:

First, the creator and his/her creation is simply ignored.

Second, the creator is ridiculed, laughed at, put down, and/or labeled as a fool who is just wasting his time.

Third, the status quo becomes threatened and resists the change. The creator is often considered a troublemaker who should be gotten rid of.

The final step is: "Oh that. What was all that fuss about? We've known that all along."

Areas of Social Transformation:

Dozens of major changes are still going through this transformation process --- women's rights, gay rights, abortion rights, sexual freedom, political freedom, drug use, euthanasia, human cloning, stem-cell research, just to name a few. A Present-day Example:

In spite of the overwhelming evidence supporting the concept of using the religious freedom approach to preserve abortion rights, many people consider the approach to be a lunatic fringe idea. Without examining the evidence, they simply assume that their present beliefs are correct. In their presumed correctness, they certainly are consistent; just like when they said: "The Earth is flat as any fool can plainly see." --- "Tiny, invisible organisms causing disease? Preposterous!" --- "If man were meant to fly, he'd have wings."

The proposal that: '

Abortion is a First Amendment Religious Freedom Issue '

and the truth that:

The anti-abortion war is about politics, and not about saving babies '

have both been ignored, put down, and labeled as ludicrous by people who have no idea what these concepts are about or how they work. Those who ignore, ridicule and/or feel threatened by us, live in their own belief boxes ' and prefer not to be confused by the evidence.

John Nash -- A Victim of Ignorance

John Nash is an example of a man who lived his life in the lunatic fringe. (The film: "A Beautiful Mind" was based upon his life.) Dr. Nash, an eccentric mathematical genius, was mis-diagnosed as being crazy. His life was all but ruined by everyone's ignorance, including his own ignorance.

In spite of his difficulties, John Nash has been a major contributor to mathematical knowledge. In 1994, he won the Nobel Prize "for their pioneering analysis of equilibria in the theory of non-cooperative games."

What additional wonderful treasures do you suppose he would have brought into Earth plane reality if, when he started seeing and hearing people who were not real in the physical sense, someone had tutored him in the alternate theories of reality.

Let's look at what the evidence tells us about reality. The following statements are not necessarily descriptions of reality. They are; however, our current best guesses based upon the presently available evidence:

1) What we consider physical is not physical at all. It's made up entirely of energy -- energy that is controlled by consciousness. As the ancient Principle of Hermes says: "Everything is mental; the Universe is a mental creation of the All." What if someone had introduced Dr. Nash to this idea and to the other six Hermetic Principles? '

2) Ninety-five percent of what we call physical matter in not perceivable by present day technology. ' We know it's there because of it's gravitational affect upon the five percent we can perceive. Some humans can see, hear, and experience things which are in that invisible ninety-five percent of what we call the universe. What if someone had explained this idea to Dr. Nash and said, "John, you are one of those people." Nash and said, "John, you are one of those people."

3) The latest scientific research points to the distinct possibility that there are multiple dimensions of reality. Some of us can experience two different planes of reality at the same time. What if someone had explained this idea to Dr. Nash and said, "John, you are one of those people."

4) "Within the context of life in a human body on planet Earth, we each create our personal experiences by our thinking; that is, by whatever we give our thoughts to and focus our attention on. We focus our thoughts within the context of our beliefs and attitudes. We empower our thoughts with our emotions, and our thoughts manifest within the context of what we believe, what we expect, and what we will (or won’t) allow ourselves to experience." What if Dr. Nash had been introduced to this universal Law and also to the other two Universal Laws of Creation.

5) What if someone had said to him: "John, you are not crazy. You are gifted with a very unique ability -- an ability to perceive things, people, and experiences that are completely imperceptible to the rest of us."

"There is; however, a significant price you must pay for this gift and a danger you must step beyond. The price is that you must learn to distinguish between these two realities, and the danger is that you must avoid becoming confused about which reality you are in at any given moment."

"There's the reality where your physical body resides, where you and I can interact in peace and harmony. There is another reality that is completely unknown and invisible to me. I and several others in your family, your circle of friends, and/or in your work environment will assist you to distinguish between the two realities."

"Until you learn to make these distinctions on your own, please confide in us, and we will tell you if we also can also see/hear what you are experiencing. You will then be able to consciously and intentionally enter those alternate realities and bring back information that none of the rest of us can access."

"We'd like you to read about Edgar Casey, ' about Manley P. Hall, ' ' and about several other people such as the eastern mystics who still regularly enter these alternate realities.

Imagine what the world might have today if Dr. Nash had been guided out of the lunatic fringe instead of being incarcerated in an insane asylum and given electro-shock treatments.

The Bottom Line:

The future of humanity is "out there" somewhere, roaming around in the lunatic fringe. So the next time you ridicule, discount or ignore someone who doesn't conform to your standards, remember, he or she just might be as talented as Einstein, or Galileo, or Louis Pasteur. He/she might even be a budding spiritual master who is here to move humanity off its present suicide course.

In talking about sanity Dr. Nash said something to the effect that sanity is conforming to someone else's definition of what's normal. **1 So any time you find yourself agreeing with the majority opinion on anything, consider these two possibilities:

1) You're probably not thinking clearly. A portion of your information is
probably missing, or something about the issue is being overlooked.

2) In a society of lunatics, a sane person would be considered crazy.
